The Community Foundation accepts and administers
gifts from many sources to help meet the needs of the community. Charitable
disbursements are directed by a Board of Directors with assistance from grant
committees and Foundation staff.
- Grant Making
Philosophy
- The basic building blocks
of local capacity are represented in communities. Acting by choice, individuals
and groups of individuals form communities of consenting relationships. A
focus on the capacities of people who also have needs will result in the development
of powerful communities.
Proposals which identify a problem,
decide how to solve that problem, and then solve the problem, with the assets
of the community, are strongly encouraged.
The Community Foundation believes
that individuals are the assets of this community. The Foundation's grantmaking
program is directed at investing in these assets.
"Grant funds are no longer available for 2005. Please watch for announcement
of new cycles in 2006."
